Stay at Stutzhaven in the Mountains and you'll experience mountain life on the North End of Estes area, a prestigious neighborhood with big acreage and open spaces punctuated by sweeping views of the Continental Divide. This home was one of the first earth-sheltered homes in the Estes Valley and is heated by the thermal warmth of the mountainside and a bit of electricity. Wander up the walk to the entry that is sheltered by berms covered in wild mountain grasses.

As you enter the home, step into the Great Room to your right. You'll notice this home's masterpiece focal point, the hearth-to-ceiling copper clad wood burning fireplace flanked by spacious windows that showcase Longs Peak and the peaks of Rocky Mountain National Park. The gorgeous golden pine tongue and groove walls and ceiling will wrap around you like a warm embrace. This Great Room offers an open-concept kitchen plus a living and dining area with a wall of windows that bring the outdoors right in.

The kitchen is fully equipped for entertaining and creating great meals during your stay. And the cook will never be alone thanks to the ample bar and barstools. You'll love admiring the aspens and mountain featured in the beautiful stained glass artisan window above the dining table. No matter where you sit in this great room, the comfy sofas, the dining table, kitchen or curled up in the rocking chair next to the fireplace, you'll have the amazing backdrop of the Rocky Mountains to admire.

Move to the outdoors easily through one of the two doors to the stone wall protected patio. The patio wraps around the west end of the home providing places to sit and admire the view or enjoy dining outdoors.

Step back into the hallway and explore the two bedrooms. To the right is the guest room featuring a Queen bed and the flip-side of the beautiful stained glass window between this room and the dining area. There is a bath with a shower next to this room.

The Master bedroom features a King bed with a custom tongue and groove pine wall for the headboard. A Queen sofa in the room offers additional sleeping space. The attached Master bath features a jetted tub, shower and two vanities each with a sink, plus a large walk-in closet.

Both bedrooms, tucked snug into the mountainside, feature a bay window with views of rock outcroppings and forest. The spacious laundry connects the garage to the home and features a full-size washer and dryer plus ample storage, amenities such as an iron and ironing board. A large 2 car garage is included with this home.

What To Be Aware Of

  • Age Restriction: The person who books the reservation must be at least 25 years of age, and will also stay in the vacation home.
  • BEARS in the area, please secure all trash and you will need to lock doors and windows each time you leave the property.
  • Our office hours are Daily - 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. MST. 
  • On-call staff is available after hours daily to respond to urgent issues that threaten the health or safety of guests, or the property itself; such as a gas leak, a broken furnace, or broken water line. Non-urgent issues will be handled on the next business day.
  • We provide a complimentary starter set of household items such as bath tissue, paper towels, and dish soap. We do not re-stock these items and if needed, additional supplies will need to be purchased locally by the guest.
  • This is a pet-free home. Pets are not allowed. You will be charged a $1000 cleaning fee for non-compliance.
  • Absolutely no smoking, including marijuana, inside this home. Cleaning for cigarette or marijuana smoke will result in a $1000 cleaning fee.
  • Parties are not allowed. This is a quiet neighborhood with strict noise restrictions. Quiet hours begin at 10 pm. Thank you!
